Hershey, PA: The Protec Ducks bantam minor AA headed to Hershey, Pennsylvania to compete in the Columbus Weekend Showdown. After finishing the preliminary round 3-0, they moved into the semi finals against a very tough North Jersey Avalanche Team. After a slow first period, the Ducks from themselves down 2-0 after the first period. The power-plays were a turning point that allowed the Ducks to even the score and take a commanding lead. Leading the charge was Jeremy Wachernachter and Sean Fagan. The Ducks held onto the lead and finished off the Avalanche 5-3.
In the championship game against the Woodbridge Wolfpack, once again, the Ducks found themselves off to a slow start, fortunately a clean break away save from goalie Nick Alvin and a five minute power-play helped the Ducks turn the tide. Sean Fagan, Jeremy Wachternacher (2), Matthew Spano, and Sean Yuhasz all scored to give the Ducks a commanding 5-0 lead. The Ducks finished the game with a 5-2 championship victory.
